The performing companies at Kane & Co. are a select group of dancers that are chosen through an audition process. These dancers represent Kane & Co. by performing at various venues around the CSRA. They are required to take class in all three principles of ballet, tap, and jazz. They are also required to attend extra rehearsals for large group numbers when needed. This year the performing companies attended a dance workshop and competition at Dance Makers, Inc. in Columbia, SC where they placed second within their division. They also competed in a local dance competition, That’s Entertainment, held at Greenbrier High School where they placed first within their division. Along with the two competitions that we participate in each year, our performing companies perform at local school carnivals, the Time to Care event hosted by Channel 12 News, The Arts in the Heart of Augusta Festival, and both the Columbia and Richmond County Christmas Parades, where we have always received recognition for our float and performance. If you are considering enrolling in dance at Kane & Co. in the fall ’10 and you are a new student to Kane & Co. , you may call the studio for an audition appointment. Auditions for new studio students only will take place Saturday, August 7 by appointment only. You must be 6yrs. of age or older to audition.
